Simple Tomato Onion gravy





Ingredients:
  1. Onion: 3.sliced
  2. Ginger: 1.5 inch.chopped
  3. Garlic: 18-20 cloves chopped.
  4. Curry leaves: 1 sprig.
  5. Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder: 1 1/2 to 2 tbsp, adjust according to your taste.(if using ordinary red chilly powder, reduce by half)
  6. Coriander powder: 1 tbsp, heaped.
  7. Turmeric: 1/4 tsp.
  8. Pepper powder: 3/4 tsp.
  9. Garam Masala: 2 tsp.
  10. Tomatoes: 2, large chopped or 3 medium.
  11. Salt: 1.5 tsp or as needed.
  12. Coconut oil: 4 tbsp.
  13. Curry leaves.
  14. Water: About 1 cup...


Method:


Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan or use pressure cooker.

Add  ginger,garlic and green chilli and mix well..

Add  onions and put salt into it and cook for 3 mins and add curry leaves into it.

Add  Garam masala,turmeric,chilli and coriander powder..Cook this for 30 sec..

Add in tomatoes and mix well.until tomato turns mashy..

Add  a cup of water..Cover and cook until onion well cooked...

Our spicy onion gravy is ready to serve.. serve as hot with porotta, rice or as u like..
