Kidney Beans Gravy | Rajma Gravy

Hello ,have you heard about kidneybeans.? Kidney beans are a very good source of cholesterol-lowering fiber, as are most other beans. This is also known as rajma.Here is a recipe of tasty rajma gravy.Which can be served with chappathis and also with rice.


Here is simple & tasty recipe for kidney shaped beans.. Lets cook....!!!!

Ingredients:

  1. Kidney Beans-1 cup dried
  2. Onion-1 large chopped finely
  3. Tomato-3 pureed
  4. Ginger Garlic Paste-1 tblspn
  5. Coriander powder / Malli Podi-1 tblspn
  6. Red chilli powder-2 tsp
  7. Cumin seeds / Jeerakam-1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder / Manjal Podi-1 tsp
  9. Garam masala powder-1 tsp
  10. Coriander leaves for garnishing(Optional)
  11. Oil-4 tblspn

Method:


  1. Soak kidney beans over night,drain it...
  2. Heat oil in a kadai or pressure cooker and add in cumin seeds..Add in onions and fry till golden.
  3. Add in turmeric powder and mix well.Add in ginger garlic paste and cook that for 1 min.
  4. Add in chilli and coriander powder and mix well.
  5. Pour in tomato puree and cook that till oil separtes from this.
  6. Add in garam masala powder and mix well.
  7. Add in the soaked kidney beans along with the cooking water and mix well.
  8. Cook on a medium flame for 2,3 whistles.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves.Serve it with rice or roti..
Tips: Can use cooked  beans instead of soaked one when you are cooking in kadai(pan).
