Cucumber Lemon cooler





Most people are unaware of the immense health benefits of cucumber and would avoid eating cucumber where possible. Fresh cucumber may taste “bland” to some but its thirst-quenching and cooling properties are refreshing. It acts as an anti-oxidant when taken together with fried and barbequed foods.It may helps in acidity,high blood pressure,water retendation,hair growth etc.One of the serving method of cucumber as follows.It is tasty cooler.

Ingredients:


  1. Cucumber - 2 or 3 small sized
  2. Lemon Juice -1 small lemon
  3. Sugar - 4 tblspn or to taste
  4. Salt - 1/2 tsp or to taste
  5. Cold Water as needed 



Method:


  1. Take a cucumber and peel them up. Remove seeds and chop them into cubes.
  2. Add this to blender along with Lemon juice ,sugar& salt.
  3. Add some cold water and puree them.
  4. Now strain this mixture through a fine sieve.
  5. Pour them into a glass.
  6. Serve cold.

Hi, I love sweets do you? I know this is not about sweet I meant sweet dishes. I love to make payasam at all family occasions.My family loves it. Today I am sharing an awesome Indian dessert. Semiya payasam In an easy way I didnt used any condensed milk.It is ready tasty recipe.It is a. part of our traditional Ona sadya.(Kerala).

Green Gram Stir Fry (Cherupayar Thoran)




One of my Favourite Side dish with Kanji(rice porridge), this green gram dish is very easy to make and is highly nutritious. This made a regular appearance in my lunch box during school days, and i bet that was the case with many of you.


Ingredients:

  1. Cherupayar/Green gram/Moong beans - 1 cup

Simple Vegetable Curd Salad




Ingredients:


  1. Onion-1 Chopped
  2. Tomato-1 Chopped
  3. Cucumber-1Chopped

Fish Biriyani





Ingredients:


For the Fish marination
  • Fish cut into pieces – 1 Kg
  • Garam Masala Powder –  1 Tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder-1 tsp
  • Vineger /lemon juice-1 tbsp

Green gram payasam (Cherupayar payasam)




Ingredients:


  1. Cherupayar                             - 150gm to 200gm
  2. Cashewnuts                            -few
  3. Rasins(Unakka Munthiri)         - 8 to 10 nos
  4. Jaggery                                    -2,3 blocks melted
  5. Coconut milk                            - half of one
  6. Cardamom powder(Elakka)       - 3 nos
  7. Salt                                           -as required
  8. Water(Hot)                               - As reqd
  9. Ghee                                         -as required


Method:
  1. Cook the split green gram dhal with needed water and salt in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles.
  2. Put jaggery in 3/4 glass of hot water and melt it.
  3. Fry raisins and cashewnuts in some ghee and keep it aside.
  4. Add jaggery syrup, cashewnut, raisins, coconut milk and cardamom powder to the cooked split green gram dhal and boil it again. Add water if necessary.
  5. Easy cherupayar payasam is ready.

Cauliflower masala (Gobi masala)




Ingredients:


  1. Cauliflower: 1
  2. Onion: 3.sliced
  3. Ginger: 1.5 inch.chopped
  4. Garlic: 18-20 cloves chopped.
  5. Curry leaves: 1 sprig.

  1. Custard Powder-3 or 4tbsp
  2. Sugar                 -1 cup or as required
  3. Milk                   - 1/2 litre
  4. Cream                -3 tbsp

Simple Black Chickpea Salad





Ingredients:


  1. Black chickpeas  -  2 cups
  2. Onion                  - 1 chopped
  3. Red chilli pwdr     -1 tsp(can also use red chilli flakes)
  4. Chat masala         - 1 tsp
  5. Salt                      - to taste
  6. Soya sauce           -1/2 tsp(optional)



Method:


  1. Soak chick peas over night or for 8 hours..
  2. Boil chickpeas until cooked and drain water from it.
  3. Take a wide vessel put onion (chopped),salt ,chat masala,,red chilli pwdr and soya sauce.Mix well..
  4. Then add cooked chickpeas..
  5. Salad is ready It is a simple method to make chick peas salad try it taste is good n spicy.
  6. Serve with ketchup.

  1. Beef(cut into bite sized pieces)- 1 kg
  2. Thinly sliced coconut pieces-3/4 cup(I didnt used this time)
  3. Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  4. Ginger (chopped)- 2tbsp
  5. Garlic(chopped)-1 tbsp
  6. Curry leaves- 3 to 4 sprigs
  7. Green Chillies-3 or 4
  8. Soya sauce
  9. Onion sliced-1 big
  10. Salt to taste

Kidney Beans Gravy | Rajma Gravy

Hello ,have you heard about kidneybeans.? Kidney beans are a very good source of cholesterol-lowering fiber, as are most other beans. This is also known as rajma.Here is a recipe of tasty rajma gravy.Which can be served with chappathis and also with rice.


Here is simple & tasty recipe for kidney shaped beans.. Lets cook....!!!!

Ingredients:

  1. Kidney Beans-1 cup dried
  2. Onion-1 large chopped finely
  3. Tomato-3 pureed
  4. Ginger Garlic Paste-1 tblspn
  5. Coriander powder / Malli Podi-1 tblspn
  6. Red chilli powder-2 tsp
  7. Cumin seeds / Jeerakam-1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder / Manjal Podi-1 tsp
  9. Garam masala powder-1 tsp
  10. Coriander leaves for garnishing(Optional)
  11. Oil-4 tblspn

Method:


  1. Soak kidney beans over night,drain it...
  2. Heat oil in a kadai or pressure cooker and add in cumin seeds..Add in onions and fry till golden.
