Sweet wheat balls (Undampori)

This is a sweet snack. It is nutritious due to the wheat content and banana. It is very high in calories and so, a heavy snack...It is a favorite dish which is mostly seen in the village tea shop. Here is the method to make the dish...


Ingredients:



  1. Wheat flour-2 1/2 cups 
  2. Cardamom powder-1/4 teaspoon 
  3. Jaggery solution-2 cup
  4. Coconut pieces(thenga kothu)- 3tbsp 
  5. Baking Soda-1/4 teaspoon 
  6. Ripe banana-1 big 
  7. Water -as needed
  8. Cooking oil for deep frying.



  • Method:

  1. In a large bowl, mix wheat flour, cardamom powder, jaggery and baking soda.
  2. Mash banana well and transfer to the bowl 
  3. Knead all the ingredients very well to make a soft fluffy dough (can add a little water if it is not fluffy and soft enough).
  4. Keep it covered aside for 2-3 hours to ferment.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer. Wet your palms with a little water and make balls of desired size and fry it in the pan until the external browns well.
  6. Serve as hot with tea.Enjoy...
